Question: How does the "Minimise Sailing Distance in ECA" toggle work, and how do I fully avoid a specific ECA zone?
In the Route tab, the Minimise Sailing Distance in ECA toggle (replacing the older "Avoid ECA" toggle) controls ECA routing:
When enabled, the platform generates routes that reduce sailing distance within ECA zones while still keeping the plan safe, practical, and cost-efficient — rather than avoiding ECAs outright, which can force longer or less efficient routes when your origin, destination, or a waypoint is inside one.
If you need to fully avoid a specific ECA zone regardless of distance, select that zone's polygon directly on the map instead of relying on the toggle.
