Question: How does the Weather Factor work in Charter Select, and how do bunker price pre-fill and the Speed/Consumption deep dive work?
1. Weather Factor
The Weather Factor predicts how weather will affect both fuel consumption and voyage duration, using the ZN fuel model and a 10-year weather average for the route. It factors in route length and expected added consumption/extra time from weather, and displays these individually as well as combined into one factor.
2. Pre-Filled Bunker Price and CP Warranties
When setting up a simulation, bunker prices are automatically pulled from ports along the voyage, with the most cost-effective option pre-selected. Hover over the info icon next to the bunker price field to see which port and fuel type were used. Past CP warranty inputs are also stored, so CP speed and consumption pre-fill from previous entries — you can see who created each CP set and when.
3. Speed and Consumption Deep Dive
To open the deep dive, go to the Speed and Consumption card and click View Current Performance in the bottom right corner. The graph shows three curves — current performance, average performance, and best sister performance — with info icons next to each curve name explaining what it represents. Three dots on the graph mark the warranties provided, and the green confidence marker shows the last observation date used for calibration.
Note: the deep dive is only available for high-confidence vessels — it won't appear for vessels the platform doesn't have enough calibration data on yet.
